Automotive Chassis Assembly Line
The chassis assembly line is the industrial line dedicated to assembling the vehicle chassis system. Its core aim is to integrate separate chassis parts into a complete, fully functional chassis module and join it precisely to the body. It installs the engine, transmission, suspension or axles, and brake system onto the chassis frame, then completes the marriage, positioning, and full-line conveying of body and chassis.
Typical Chassis Assembly Flow
- Preparation
After interior assembly, the body enters the chassis area by conveyor. In parallel, subassembly lines pre-assemble the engine-and-transmission powertrain and the front and rear axle modules. - Positioning and Lifting
The body is precisely located and clamped at the marriage station. The marriage equipment (a marriage carriage or AGV) carries the pre-assembled chassis module beneath the body. - Mating and Fastening
The equipment lifts the chassis assembly smoothly and precisely so its connection points (mounts, bolt holes) align with the body. Operators or robots then torque the bolts to the specified value and sequence. - Accessory Installation
With the main structure joined, the exhaust, fuel tank, brake lines, and wiring harness are installed and connected. - Inspection and Off-line
After assembly, necessary checks are performed (key-bolt torque re-check, initial four-wheel alignment), and qualified bodies go off-line to the final line.
